Judy (2019, Rupert Goold)

You could tell by the age of the audience coming to see this movie tonight, this story was not intended for the under 50 population.

Old enough to remember Judy Garland, I was curious to see how they would portray er life. To get the true sadness of her life, it was well portrayed with flashbacks of her younger self on the set of filming Wizard of Oz. And that is where her personal hell began. It was amazing that she lived as long as she did.

Renee Zellweger was perfect for this role. There were times in the movie, that you forget that she isn’t the real Judy Garland. This will be my first Oscar vote for best Actress. The film was very depressing and at times slow, but hands off to Renee for making it a movie to remember for a long time.

I love going to the movies, especially if they are Oscar worthy. I am no expert, but I give all reviews my honest average joe opinion. I hope you enjoy!
