Downton Abby (2019, Michael Engler)

My wife and I were addicted to this TV series and were anxious to see it continued on the big screen (especially since we watched most of the series in our motor home little 21” TV). We even made sure we had reserved seats.

The movie picked up where it left us 4 years ago. If you have never seen the TV series, the movie will not have the same impact that it had on us. There were several story lines happening along with the major plot of the King (George the 5th) and Queen of England coming to Downton. The movie was intermingled with witty and very funny comments from the fantastic Dowager Countess such as “”At my age, one must ration one’s excitement.” or “Principles are like prayers: Noble of course, but awkward at a party.”

I really did not want this movie to end…although my bladder was happy it was over. If you were ever a fan of the TV show this is a must see.

I love going to the movies, especially if they are Oscar worthy. I am no expert, but I give all reviews my honest average joe opinion. I hope you enjoy!
